Form 1099-K → Schedule C (Form 1040). The placements are Article 14’s verified walk, read off the final 2025 Schedule C and the Instructions for Form 1099-K (12/2026). If a line changes, this page is updated in place with a dated note at the foot of the page.

A Form 1099-K is a gross figure looking for its lines. Enter the box 1a amount and the amounts from your own records below, and each amount is placed on the Schedule C line the form gives it — in the form’s order, with the walk’s own arithmetic check at the foot. The page outputs placements, never a recommendation, and its last figure is a check figure — not a profit.

Form 1099-K → Schedule CBox-to-line placements

1
Gross receipts or sales — enter the gross amount from Form 1099-K, box 1a, whole. Nothing is netted before this line: box 1a is figured without regard to fees, refunded amounts, shipping amounts, credits, or discounts.
2
Sales returns and allowances — refunds and returns given to buyers, from your own records, entered as a positive number.
3
Subtract line 2 from line 1
—
10
Commissions and fees — the platform’s commissions and fees, from your own records. A Part II placement: it does not touch line 3.
23
Taxes and licenses — sales tax imposed on you as the seller and collected from buyers, already inside the line 1 figure, from your own records. A Part II placement: it does not touch line 3.

The split the instructions print: sales tax imposed on the buyer is in neither line 1 nor line 23. Only tax imposed on the seller, collected from the buyer and included in gross receipts, takes this line.

Check
Check figure — line 3, minus lines 10 and 23. The walk’s arithmetic check, not a profit: cost of goods sold and the rest of Part II are not figured on this page.
—

Shipping: shipping amounts sit inside box 1a’s gross figure — the Form 1099-K instructions name shipping among the amounts box 1a is not adjusted for — and neither Article 14 nor this page assigns outbound shipping costs a Schedule C line of their own: the IRS sources read for the walk assign them none.

Scope: this page is Schedule C Part I plus two Part II placements (lines 10 and 23). Cost of goods sold is figured in Part III, lines 35–42, and reaches the return at line 4 — outside this page. Net profit at line 31 needs the rest of Part II, which this page does not figure.

Two articles read these placements on paper: Article 14 walks box 1a to the check figure, and Article 15 reads Part III for sellers who make what they sell. The profit a completed Schedule C feeds is taxed through Schedule SE and paid through the estimates worksheet — the 2026 Estimated Tax Worksheet is the fill-in page for that step.

Update log

Changes are dated and kept. Old figures are never silently overwritten.

2026-10-10:
Tool published. The placements replicate Article 14’s verified walk — Schedule C lines 1, 2, 3, 10, and 23, and the check figure — read off the final 2025 Schedule C and the Instructions for Form 1099-K (12/2026); every placement is re-verified against the final 2026 Schedule C when it posts. The platform selector ships with Etsy and other-platform helper text only: what Amazon’s box 1a contains could not be re-verified from a primary Amazon page for this build — Amazon’s seller help pages sit behind a login — so this page prints no Amazon branch.
